Brought To You By The Letter "T"

Shauni is learning a lot at school, particularly her letters and their sounds. She has recently even begun asking us "how do you read and write". She loves books and borrows a book everyday from her school library. I hope to continue to encourage this level of interest in learning. Every day, they learn a new letter and reviews them all at the end of the week. Today's letter of the day was the letter "t". She couldn't wait to get home to show me how to write the letter "t". She stood in front of her chalkboard for a while. A little embarrassed, she picked up the chalk and this is what she wrote.

She was clearly aware that the shorter line belonged at the upper part of the "t" and not in the middle like a plus sign or down at the bottom like the letter "L". I was so proud of her and she knew it. She will be reading and writing in no time!
